"I hope you never lose your sense of wonder"

Name: Mayuresh K
Location: Mumbai, India

I was barely 6 years old when I inscribed my first piece of literature with my brand new sketch pens on my neighbors freshly painted wall. He told my father “He’s the God Damned Writer”. I can’t recall what happened next but am sure that my father‘s eyes went red with pride as he looked upon me, his son,”The God Damned Writer”

The Undertaking

As a God Damned Writer I take it as my divine duty to write for you mere mortals out there.
1] Please feel free to write in how much you disliked the blog. Abusive language is appreciated however readers please make a note that I understand only English, Hindi, Marathi & Java.
2] Although it is heavily unlikely that anyone ever comes back to the site, would like to make one point to all those who have suicidal instincts. If you wish to see any new droppings (What’s wrong with that word now?) it would mostly be post Saturday. Monday thru Friday I am at office busy pretending to work.
3] If you forward my blog address to 15 people within an hour of reading it yourself, bad luck shall be cast upon you as they’ll ensure you have a very bad time. However if you choose to ignore my blog and never ever visit the URL again you may escape unhurt.

YooHoo Wimbledon

"You can't be serious....The ball was on the line"
John Mcenroe takes you on a tour inside the players room and in the talk brushing on a bit on the best players, events Wimbledon has seen. I wasn't lucky enough to meet Mcenroe in person but the 3 D illusion created at the Wimbledon museum is amazing. So there was I at Wimbledon. Wow Boris Becker my most fav sports icon as a kid and guess still one of my fav's ruled here didn't he.

Recently some magazine published a list of 10 things that money can't buy.All England Tennnis Club membership happens to be one of them. They say the easiest way to be a member of the club is to win the Wimbledon Championship. The start of what is today one of the most charismatic championships was pretty modest and funny though. The club didn't have enough money to buy a new roller to maintain their courts so someone proposed to keep a chamionship to raise some money through spectatorship. It's come quite a long way since then hasn't it !!!

Also was cool to know where a few terms came from. The word "Service" came through because the rich guys who played the game got there servants along. The servant would toss the ball up in the air (served) for them so that they could hit it across to start the point.

Also Wimbledon is never complete without its stories on rain, fans, royalty ,players antics .Last game Mcenroe played there was against Agassi which he lost. While going out Agassi had to be reminded by Mcenroe to bow down to the royal box.In Mcenroe's words "Define irony,in my last match here I am teaching manners to the next generation". He plays for the senior circuit these days and i read his quote on his own behaviour somewhere "In my younger days i used to get fined for it and now they pay me extra for it ;)". A cue to be taken by the ICC i guess where people get fined even for nodding there heads in dissent. We all see sports for the skill for sure(Not tht Mcenroe or Becker had any less of it) but its the personalities that keep the game alive and kicking.

Team India??

This is highly unjust!!!!! I say why is there not a single Kashmiri in the team. Lets take tht Qazi fellow from Fame gurukul in it. Ok he cannot play cricket so what, he cannot sing as well!!!

What wrong has Gujarat done?? I say take Parthiv Patel in the team.....OK we've got Dhoni as a good wicket keeper so what we might as well keep one at both ends.

You guys have always neglected Bihar....damn u for that...Laluji now that u r free please stand for the BCCI elecsonva.

Don't tell me you did not receive Mulayam singh and Mayawati's joint application for reservations in the Indian team yet.

Talking of reservations the BCCI memebers should be allowed to induct atleast one player through the 'management quota'.

Its been a long time since i have read my geography book.Besides there have been many lines drawn and names changed on it (Does bengaluru really mean city of baked beans.....and u still want to change it to that name?). But it is high time India stands up and tells the ICC that we are a country with 29 states (i think so,besides this is as on December 16) and this bloody cricket team plays only 11.

Gadget bytes

Read about this cell phone which can act as a remote control for the equipments at your place. It said you can start your washing machine using it.Now hang on why would i really want to wash my clothes using the cell phone. For that matter why would one even want to wash clothes at all(What are the deodarants and the perfumes for??).As if people chatting their hearts out whem i am trying to watch some movie in the theatre wasn't enough ,i'll have people turning their washing machines on and off now.

We were talking about how a coffee place has gone wi fi now. Unfortunately i was the only one in the group who thought that idea was hopeless. One i hate to have any waves floating around weakening my brains even further.Besides with all my friends putting their laptops on the table where would i keep my coffee.

The readers digest had an intersting article written by a man who talks about the gadgets around. He wrote "forget the features its a problem for me to use the Volume and channel surfing controls these days".I myself often wonder how many parents can use the child lock facility and how many children can not break one.

"Since there no apple trees on the moon, there is no gravity too".
No No i am not Sir Isaac Newton ,but this theory holds true right? Just wanted to share a joke/fact with you.The astronauts from NASA had problems taking the readings with pens since the ink didn't flow down. The americans put in loads of money for a e-pen and solved the problem. The russians faced the same issue and they solved the issue in their own way "Their astronauts carried a pencil with them:)"

But i am not anti gadgets or the e-somethings.Infact i got this amazing e-Puja software.Since appraisals are around the corner i have already put it in a loop.Hey goD!! i just hope your inbox is not full.

Do you hate the character "Becker" on Star World for sulking all the time. I say why shouldn't one.
Over 10 minutes to start the pc +15 minutes to connect to the internet .Truck load of viruses.Norton sucks.
One ram chip gone bust and XP can't work on 64 MB. Microsoft sucks.

Call the other friend up and he says he can't talk cos he's caught in traffic. The Government sucks.
I turn on the darned pc again.Turn the volume up and tune in to Metallica
"So you walk into this restaurant, strung out from the road.
And you feel the eyes upon you, as you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you,
but you just want to EXPLODE.................."

Startin off a Brand New Day

The other day as I talked to Smita she was telling me as to how,as a school going kid she was a Michael Jackson fan and getting any english songs then wasn't that easy. But when you got one it was damn good fun. Seems it all comes too easily now and I miss the fun.

Well true in a way, I still remember the good ol school days. We all friends had our brand new cycles then and it took heavy convincing at our homes to let us take the cycle to the garden. The distance till there by the cycle is not more than 5 min but it wasn't any less thrilling than winning the Tour De France(Ok don't ask me how do I know how it is like winning the Tour De France)

A pepsi cola costed just 50 paise and the Jumbo one ,a rupee. But we had to decide a day before that everyone will get a rupee the next day so that we can buy one :) And then if you felt like buying one more :(

Now the ringing telephone annoys me at times. But i can remember the day the MTNL guy put the box at our place and there was no dial tone for the days to follow. We used to pick it up now and then to check if there was dial tone.hey and the first ring was exhillarting.I remember who it was, it was a hoarse voice from the telephone exchange announcing that the phone had started. So my first conversation ever with a woman on my own phone wasn't that pleasing but anyways........

I think its true that we still do a lot of crazy things but may be don't appreciate it as much. Guess we don't appreciate the power of the words "Hope you never lose your sense of wonder".
